New Favorite Nursing (and Pre-Baby) Bra: Bravado Body Silk Seamless

I’ve said before that I believe nursing is one of the greenest acts a mother can perform. We are feeding babies directly from our bodies using no external resources and it is pretty rad. (However I totally support mothers who choose not to nurse!)

So I am all about testing out products designed to make nursing easier as I did recently with the Simple Wishes Pumping Bra. But when you are not pumping, what is the best bra to use to keep those big boobies supported yet accessable? For that I have always been a fan of Bravado.

The Body Silk Seamless Nursing Bra is my new favorite. The bra’s seamless design and soft, stretchy fabric perfectly supports mom’s unique shape and movement, making it comfortable to wear all day, even before baby is here. I know I had to start switching to comfy nursing bras by my third trimester.

Bravado also has a bra conversion kit, which gives mom the option to convert her Bravado nursing bra to a “regular bra” once she’s completed her nursing journey.  This can extend the life of Bravado nursing apparel, so you can continue to wear your Bravado bras.

Like most nursing bras — although there are certainly some on the market — Bravado products are not organic cotton. However, the company was recently OEKO-TEX® Standard 1000 certified for sustainable textile production.

I’ll certainly be anxious to get back to my sexy, lacy bras, but while I am a milk machine all I can ask for is comfort and support.

Disclosure: This company gave me a sample for review. Regardless, my opinions are honest. See my full disclosure here.

Disclosure: not my body.

Have. Love. So much better than the nursing bras I used for the last two babies. Do you use the polyurethane foam inserts? I want to know if they are flame retardant free.

Great question Betsy. I will ask!

Betsy, here is your answer: “The removable foam cups in the Body Silk Seamless garment are made of polyurethane, but they do not have a flame retardant finish. The Bravado Body Silk Seamless nursing bra, and the foam cups, meet the OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which is an internationally recognized independent test and certification system which contains more than 300 testing parameters for textiles and apparel. Its aim is to ensure products are free from harmful substances.”
