Bare(ly) Homesteading: How to Make Oven Dried Tomatoes

Another addition to what I’d like to start calling my “Homesteading for Dummies” series that currently includes “Even You Can Make Jam” and “Anyone Can Use a Breadmaker.”

How to make Oven-Dried Tomatoes that taste like candy but your kid still won’t eat them if his name is Sam:

1. Cut tomatoes in halves or quarters depending on size and scoop out seeds with your fingers.

2. Lay on a baking sheet and sprinkle with olive oil and salt

3. Bake at a super low temperature, like 150 degrees, for about 8 hours.

Eat them all in one sitting.
